🐉 The Wyvern is a mythical creature and is not to be confused with the dragon; as you see from the Wyvern’s heraldry, it has two legs! The Wyvern is intelligent, cunning, and vicious, symbolising power and strength in battle.

💪 The Wildman is a Celtic mythical figure, and people would celebrate it by dressing up as Wildman for medieval dancing parties or brawls. The Wildman symbolises masculinity, strength, independence and harmony with nature and freedom.

Riverfest is an Isle of Wight Award-Winning Fun, Free, Family Event.
Riverfest takes place every May in Newport.

The event has the feel of a traditional village fete, with many free activities for children. Local charities attend to promote the work they do in the community, helping people and the local environment.

Newport Quay is owned by the Isle of Wight Council, and organised by Newport Carnival & Community Events Association.
