Terms and Conditions

In this document, “We”, “Our”, and “Us” refer to The Wighthill, Bed and Breakfast, and self-catering bungalows, including all other commercial business conducted at the business address, staff members and in the name of the business, the business website and the business social media accounts.

“You”, “Your”, “Your Party”, and “Guests” refer to the person making the booking and the guests of that person under such bookings.

Our registered address is The Wighhill, 2 Leed Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight, PO36 9DA.
When you make a booking, either directly, online or with third-party booking agents, You and We enter a legally binding contract under the conditions below. Please read them carefully.

Offers

Our offers include available dates. However, all offers will exclude the following dates:
August 24th – August 31st, December 18th – January 7th.

1). Offers and Promotions cannot be combined unless designed to be, in which case it will be stated in the offer or promotional material.

2). All Offers and Promotions are only considered available if they are displayed on this website or were on this website at the time of booking.

Ferries, Companies and Routes Explained

3). Free Car Ferry Offers will be travelling with Red Funnel. However, we offer Wightlink savings for our guests who prefer their routes.

4). Certain dates will require travel at off-peak times. Please see below:

From Southampton: Travel before 09:00 and after 16:30 on these dates:

March 29. May 3,24,25. July 27. Aug 3,10,17,23,24. Dec 25.

East Cowes: Travel before 09:00 and after 16:30 on these dates.

Apr 1. May 6,27. Aug 3,10,17,24,26,31. Dec 25

All other dates are subject to availability as shown on the Red Funnel website HERE.

5). Ferry Offers are for cars at the standard size as set by Red Funnel and the same number of passengers as per the accommodation booking.

6). Free Foot Passenger Ferry Offers and Promotions can be any route to and from the Isle of Wight, subject to availability and as described in the Offer or Promotion.

Bookings and Payment

Depending on where and how the booking is made determines the payment requirement (in total, deposit, or no pre-payment required). Bookings may only be made by persons over the age of eighteen.

Prices

Our tariffs fluctuate depending on the season and method of booking. We reserve the right to alter prices at any time, but We will not change the prices of existing bookings You have made. Payment for direct bookings can be made by cash, debit or credit card, bank transfer or PayPal (where available). Third-party booking agents may have other methods of payment.

Cancellation

We understand that You may need to change your plans, and We will try and accommodate you. However, We are a small business, and a last-minute booking cancellation can seriously jeopardise our business. Guests should take out adequate travel insurance coverage.

For direct bookings:

Cancellation made with more than 14 days’ notice is 100% refundable.

Cancellations made with less than 14 days notice but more than 7 days’ notice is 50% refundable.

Cancellations made with less than 7 days’ notice are non-refundable.

Just so you know, the policy above may differ from that of third-party agents, and it is Your responsibility to check their Terms and Conditions.

Refunds

Due to PCI DSS regulations covering online credit card transactions, We do not receive Your card details if You booked online, either at Our website or via a third party. If We need to refund Your bank account or card, We will conduct security checks. We reserve the right not to issue a refund via a particular method.

Cancellation by Us

We have rarely needed to alter a booking. However, if necessary, We shall arrange alternative accommodation of a similar standard. In any such instance, We shall inform You of any change to Your booking before Your travel date. Under circumstances whereby We need to make changes to Your booking, You have the right to cancel Your booking without penalty, and Your booking deposit or payment shall be refunded in full, within seven days of the date of the cancellation.

Check-in Time, Check-Out Time

Check-in is between 4.00 pm – 10.00 pm. Please inform us by phone if you are arriving after 10.00 pm so that We can greet You.
Check-out is before 10.00 am.

Smoking Policy

We have a no-smoking policy in the hotel rooms or communal areas. However, there are designated smoking areas outside the hotel, and each bungalow has a seating area where smoking is permitted.

Pet Policy

We are a pet-friendly accommodation provider with designated pet-friendly rooms and bungalows. Please check when making a booking. We must be informed about pets before arrival.

Free WiFi

Guests can use the free wireless broadband service. We offer a ‘Fair Usage’ policy.

Room or Bungalow Maximum Occupancy

All rooms have stated maximum occupancy and the accommodation booked is only available to the registered guests; we do not allow unauthorised additional overnight visitors.

Group Bookings

We regularly host families, special interest groups, schools, colleges, student groups and corporate group bookings. Group bookings are available at Our discretion, and accommodation may only be booked individually by group members with prior agreement with The Wighthill.

Pre-Wedding Groups

We do not accept group bookings like ‘Hen’ or ‘Bachelor’ weekends/nights.

Liability

You and any of Your Party are liable for the cost of any damage to the property of The Wighthill during Your stay. We shall not be held responsible for personal injury, death, or loss of any nature suffered by You or any person(s) of Your Party from any cause other than the proven negligence of ourselves or our employees. This clause does not attempt to exclude negligence or breach of statutory duty. The Wighthill has substantial Public Liability Insurance. You and Your Party are requested to take care whilst walking in and around the garden and grounds, including the decking areas. Use of The Wighthill facilities, including parking, is at Your and Your Party’s own risk.

Keys

Guests must inform a staff member immediately should any keys to The Wighthill be lost.

Valuables and Left Items

You and Your Party are requested to take care of valuable items and ensure that cars are locked. If we find items of value left on the premises, we will attempt to contact the owner. Found items will be stored for one month and disposed of as we see fit.

Disruptive Behaviour

We reserve the right to refuse check-in or request that You or Your Party leave the property if You misbehave, are intoxicated, or cause nuisance or disturbance to other guests. We operate a ‘Zero Tolerance Policy of using rude, threatening or violent behaviour towards other guests or staff.

Cooking

Hotel Rooms
Guests are not permitted to cook or reheat food in hotel rooms. Guests may not set up temporary cooking or barbecue facilities in the accommodation or grounds.

Bungalows
We have tried to include all necessary appliances for cooking during Your stay with us. However, should You need to use additional cooking or re-heating devices in the bungalows, please check with a staff member first.

Parking

You may park in the bays provided. Parking is ‘first come, first served’. However, if You or Your Party have special requirements or needs, please consult with a staff member, and We shall endeavour to accommodate. Vehicles and their contents are left entirely at Your risk. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any vehicle other than the negligence of Our employees.

Shortcomings

You must notify us immediately of any shortcomings with your Accommodation so that remedial action, if appropriate, can be taken. We cannot accept any liability for any deficiencies or claims of whatever sort if you don’t let us know of any complaint or claim during your stay.

Privacy Policy and General Data Protection Regulation

In this Privacy Policy, We provide detailed information on when and why We collect Your personal information, how We use it, the limited conditions under which We may disclose it to others and how We keep it secure.

We are committed to protecting Your privacy. When using this website, the confidentiality of any personal and transactional information is protected to the highest standards. Any personal information that You provide or is available to Us from which We can identify You is held by the Data Protection Act of 1998. It will be used only for the following purposes:
To supply web content from this website to You.
