The Wighthill is located in a quiet area of Sandown, yet just moments away from the train station, high street and the promenade. For those travelling from the mainland to Ryde, take the train from the pierhead to Sandown, and we are a short stroll away. If you are coming by bus, the stop is very close. the island is very lucky to have an excellent bus service. If travelling by car, we have off-street parking, and an EV charging point by appointment.
From the mainland, you can travel by car ferry (as a foot passenger also) from:
Portsmouth to Fishbourne or Lymington to Yarmouth (Wightlink Ferries).
Southampton to East Cowes (Red Funnel).
Both companies also offer a fast speed service for foot passengers:
Portsmouth to Ryde (Fast Cat by Wightlink).
Southampton to Cowes (Red Jet by Red Funnel)
The train stations for ferry connections to the island are Southampton Central, Portsmouth Harbour (for ferries ferries) Portsmouth and Southsea (for Hovercraft). You can find times and prices HERE.
The island has a cute train service between Ryde and Shanklin. The train can be taken from the Ryde Pier head (near the Fast Cat ferry disembarkation) or at the bottom of the Pier (Ryde Promanade). The Sandown stop follows Brading village. The total trip takes just 18 minutes.
Once you leave the train, walk out of the station, the car park is to your right, take the second right into Hill Street, a few yards and you will see us on the Corner of Leed Street.
