A Literally Great Event

The Isle of Wight Literary Festival held its first event in 2012 and is now a fixture on the UK Arts calendar. The event runs over four days at Northwood House. Presenters will share their latest works from travel, crime fiction, history, maritime, adventure, gardening, technology, medicine and current socio-political issues.

Among those who will appear at the festival and will speak is MP and TV personality Gyles Brandreth, Countdown star and Lexicorapher Susie Dent and one of the British Army’s most high-profile generals since the Second World War General Sir Michael Jackson, GCB, CBE, DSO, DL. Also appearing are; Rt. Hon. Lord Fowler, music writer David Hepworth, wine expert and author Helen McGinn, historian Tracy Borman, Atlantic rower Simon Howes and reporter now author Martin Sixsmith, who returns after a sell-out appearance last year.

The festival will also feature a new jazz event and the return of the popular Fizz Quiz (Thursday 3rd October, 7.30pm at the Island Sailing Club).

You can visit the official website HERE for more information and the speaker lineup.
