Sadly, not many traditional piers are left to visit in the UK, but Sandown pier is here to stay and is as popular as ever. The pier opened in 1878 and extended in 1895 to 260 metres. Today it houses an amusement arcade, indoor ten-pin bowling, a children’s play area and indoor adventure golf.

There is a café, restaurant, snack vendors, and candy floss to keep the family going. The adults and parents can relax in Scruffy Jacks pub, an excellent pub with great prices and sports on multiple screens.

The End of the Pier is open from Easter, and there are rides including doges, snake slide and teacups.
