There is an incredible variety of animals at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary in Sandown. Marvel at the tigers, lions, lynx, lemurs, monkeys, meerkats, reptiles and many more species. The sanctuary is a unique home that allows rescued animals to flourish in a caring environment. The sanctuary hopes to inspire people to take positive action to protect our planet and the animals we share it with.

The sanctuary animal carers have their own specific sections, allowing them to get to know the personalities of the animals in their care exceptionally well. Explore this section to learn more about our animals and their unique stories and characters.

Experiences

If you want to get a little closer to exotic wildlife, you can experience what happens behind the scenes at the sanctuary for a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Or treat a friend or family to an experience by buying experience vouchers. Experiences include being a Keeper or Junior Keeper feeding the lions and the tigers for the day.

More About the Trust

The Wildheart Trust strives to improve the well-being of animals in human care. The Trust runs the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary here in the Isle of Wight and provides governance for its conservation aims. The trust also provides funding and technical support to in-situ conservation programmes for tigers in India, lemurs in Madagascar and native species in the UK. The Trust has ambitions to grow its in-situ conservation.
